Do I have to pay?
Many of the courses we offer are now available FREE if:
- you are in receipt of a means-tested benefit such as Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit or Working Tax Credit (subject to the level of your Total Income shown on your Award Notice)
- you have not successfully completed a Full Level 2 qualification, you are aged 19 and over and want to study a Full Level 2 course. A Full Level 2 qualification is often defined as 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent.
- you have not successfully completed a Full Level 3 qualification, are aged 19 – 24 on 1/9/09, and want to study a Full Level 3. A Full Level 3 qualification is often defined as 2 A Levels or an NVQ Level 3.
- you qualify for level 2 NVQ training through the Government funded Train to Gain. If you are aged 19-64, currently in work and do not have a full level 2 qualification, call 01522 876280 for further information on how to access Train to Gain and study and an NVQ2 for free.
You will get tuition fees paid if:-
- you are aged 19 and over on 1/09/09 and you are receipt of certain non-means tested benefits such as Incapacity Benefit, Disability Living Allowance, Severe Disablement Allowance or sign on for National Insurance Contributions only.

- you are aged 19 or over on 1/9/09, on a full time course and do not pay income tax on any earnings

Student Support Officer
If you are finding it difficult to meet any of the costs associated with your course you may find it useful to speak to our Student Support Officer. The Student Support Officer will let you know about the sources of financial help available at the College as well as letting you know about help available elsewhere. They can also let you know about other organisations and institutions who can help with other welfare related concerns you may have.
