“When we recruit a new trainee dental nurse, we contact the college to get them enrolled on the apprenticeship programme. New legislation brought in six years ago means that you have to be qualified to work as a dental nurse, so gaining a formal qualification is a necessity for out dental nurses.”

“The hands-on practical nature keeps the apprentices engaged in what they are doing, which is effective in getting them trained up.

“We are constantly aware our apprentices’ progress – college tutors visit regularly and supply us with a feedback form after every visit.”
