Information Technology Apprentice

Paul Francis is one of the recruited Apprentices at Lincoln College and specialises in Information Technology. Paul has been successful in gaining full time employment at college as his apprenticeship programme nears completion.

Paul started at the sixth form in Lincoln Christ Hospital School before leaving to work as an IT Technician in a primary school.

“I found that full time education didn’t fulfil me, I knew I wanted to be working, so I took up a position at a primary school. This didn’t offer me the opportunity to get further qualifications, so I went to speak to a Connexions advisor who told me about an Apprenticeship position at Lincoln College.”

“Taking an apprenticeship offers you an alternative. I’m getting myself qualifications whilst gaining on the job experience,” says Paul.

“I am in a lucky position. I’m working in a professional environment and gaining the skills and knowledge that will help me on my way to a successful career in the IT industry.”
