I’m pleased I started my career with an apprenticeship

Conference and Banqueting Manager at Cliveden, one of the world’s finest luxury hotels, a grand country house in the heart of National Trust gardens and parklands.

“As a Conference and Banqueting Manager at Cliveden House, I am responsible for overseeing all private banquets and corporate events at the hotel.”

Sam joined Cliveden from the Lincoln Hotel in Lincoln, where he held the position of Duty Manager and the Conference and Banqueting Manager – Sam got his successful career underway with an Apprenticeship at Lincoln College.

Sam completed his Apprenticeship (Level 2) before progressing onto the Advanced Apprenticeship:

“I felt that the Apprenticeship Scheme was best suited to me as I could gain ‘on the job’ experience whilst obtaining the qualifications required for prospective employers. I strongly believe that experience on a job is just as important as qualifications on a CV.”
