'The Big Thank You Lunch'
To say a 'big thank you' for all their hard work and positive contributions, apprentices employed at Lincoln College enjoyed an exclusive lunch in Sessions Restaurant.

Lincoln College Principal, John Allen joined the event:
“This week celebrates the benefits that Apprenticeships bring to both the individual and the employer, so we’ve brought you all together to say thank you for your hard work as our apprentices.”
“The future for Apprenticeships is very good, with the Government placing massive emphasis on them as a valuable training route, including looking into the development of more Higher Apprenticeships.”
Apprentices were invited to feedback about their experiences – positives, challenges and several secured full time employment positions at Lincoln College!
Paul Francis is a fortunate apprentice who will soon relocate to the Newark campus to take up full time employment in the IT Services department:

“My Apprenticeship has worked out really well for me. It has enabled me to work towards a qualification whilst being paid and I’ve also made lots of new friends.”
Emily Hayward says her Apprenticeship has helped her to develop both personally and professionally:
“I work in the Facilities Unit as a Business Administration Apprentice and come into contact with lots of different people. I was quite shy when I first started, but my confidence has really grown along the way!”
Mark Swinn is an Apprentice in the Information Services who has also been successful in gaining permanent employment with the college:
“Through my apprenticeship I’ve completed the ITQ Level 2 qualification and have enjoyed working with a really good, supportive team – it’s a really friendly environment.”
Lincoln College currently employs 18 apprentices across a range of disciplines including business administration, painting and decorating, accounting and IT. The apprentices complete their programme at college through a combination of training at work and studying for a formal qualification.
