Course Description
The AAT qualification provides students with a thorough grounding in a broad range of accounting subjects which are relevant to the modern business environment.
Students will study the AAT Level 1 Award in Accounting for the first term and progress to the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting for terms two and three.
Level 1 Award in Accounting
- Creating business documents
- Mathematics for accounting
- Essential accounting procedures
- Accounting in a professional environment
Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
- Basic Accounting I
- Basic Accounting II
- Work effectively in accounting and finance
- Basic costing
- Computerised accounting
- Professional ethics in accounting and finance
Students will also study:
- Functional Skills in maths and English at an appropriate level.
- C&G Level 2 Certificate in Employability and Personal Development
- BSC Level 1 Award in IT User Skills (ECDL Essentials) (ITQ).
Entry Requirements
Students are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade D or higher, an interest in accountancy and a good reference.
Progression & Assessment
Assessment is through computer based tests and projects.
On successful completion of the course students who have achieved the appropriate grades will have the opportunity to progress onto the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (full time).
Duration & Location
The AAT Level 1 Award followed by the AAT Level 2 Certificate is a one year full time programme.
Fees
If you are under 19 on 31st August when your programme begins and study for more that 12.5 hours per week, you will be entitled to free tuition and no examination fees, wherever you live and provided you are a European Union National.
All students who do not achieve a pass at the first sitting and need to take a re-sit will be responsible for the re-sit fees. These must be paid to Lincoln College before the student can be entered for the assessment.
