Course Description
The AAT Education and Training scheme offers 3 Levels of study: Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 Diploma in Accounting. Students can commence study at the Certificate level with no previous accounting experience. Students must register with the AAT to be eligible to sit the examination.
This programme is also available as a Higher Apprenticeship giving young people aged 16 and over the opportunity to combine the experience of working, with the added benefit of college attendance on a day release (or evening) basis.

Anyone wanting to take additional option units may only do so with the permission of the course co-ordinator. An additional fee of £130 per unit (2010/11) will be required.
Entry Requirements
- AAT Level 3 Intermediate Accounting
- AAT Level 3 Certificate in Accounting
- NVQ III Accounting
- Degree in Accounting
Lincoln College will require a photocopy of certificates prior to enrolment
Progression & Assessment
Assessment is by Computer based tests for most of the units, except Internal Control & Accounting Systems and Credit Management and Control, which are assessed via Computer based projects.
For students wishing to continue their accounting studies, the various UK Chartered Accountancy bodies offer exemptions to students who have successfully completed Level 4 Diploma in Accounting. Alternatively students may wish to pursue a Management route such as the HNC in Business or the ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management. For those with management experience, progression to the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership may be appropriate.

This is a one year part time course.
Lincoln
Day Release - Thursday 9.00 am - 6.00 pm - starting September 2012.
Evenings -Tuesday and Thursday 6.00 - 9.00pm - starting September 2012.
Project tutorials may sometimes fall outside these times, but tutors are flexible and are usually able to accommodate individual students' needs.
Newark
Day Release - Wednesday 9.00 am - 6.00 pm
Evenings - Tuesday & Wednesday 6.00-9.00pm
Fees
The course fees for 2012/13 are not yet available.
Fees include tuition, text books and AAT Subscription renewals.
