Course Description
This course is designed for those wishing to improve their knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping. It allows those progessing from Level 1 to further develop their knowledge of manual bookkeeping.
Content
- Preparing ledger accounts and control accounts.
- Correcting errors in business accounts such as identifying errors in ledger accounts.
- Understanding capital and revenue expenditures.
- Depreciation.
- End of Year adjustments.
- Trial Balance
Entry Requirements
Students will normally progress to the Level 2 course, having completed Level 1.
Progression & Assessment
Students' work is assessed via a 2 hour exam, marked by the awarding body, City & Guilds. Successful completion of the course leads to the award of a C & G Award in Bookkeeping & Accounts Level 2.
Progression
Students who successfully complete this Level 2 course may choose to progress to courses provided (at Lincoln College) by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), which are nationally recognised accounting qualifications. Students with C&G Bookkeeping and Accounts Level 1 & 2 and the Level 2 C&G Award in Computerised Accounts, will usually be given exemption from Level 2 of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications.
Duration & Location
This is a 13 week course starting on Tuesday 29 November 2011.
Due to the short duration of this course, there is a minimum attendance requirement of 100%. Exams, where applicable, are scheduled for the final week of each course.
