Course Description
The aim of this programme is to help people carry out basic maintenance tasks at home without special tools and understand their vehicles enough to avoid being defrauded. People who are studying to pass a driving test may well find topics useful, as well as experienced drivers wishing to obtain basic knowledge.
If group members suggest useful topics it is hoped that they can be accommodated, but initially topics will usually include:
- Bulb changing
- Wheel changing
- Level checking
- Tyre pressures & tread depths
- Vehicle safety checks
- Guide to car buying
- The MOT test
- Basic introduction to vehicle technology
- Making your vehicle look its best

Entry Requirements
Progression & Assessment
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a college certificate of achievement.
Duration & Location
This is a short course which is run in the evenings, for four weeks, between 6:00-8:00pm. The course predominantly runs at our Lincoln campus but subject to sufficient interest, we will also be able to run the course at Newark.

Fees
Free to those aged over 19, funded by the PCDL scheme (Personal Community and Development Learning).
