Course Description
Computer and Online Basics is an accessible computer and internet qualification for absolute beginners. This course allows the learner to demonstrate basic knowledge of using a computer and teaches the skills needed to complete some basic or everyday IT tasks in a confident way.
Programme Content:
The Online Basics course covers the following areas:
• Computer Basics
• The Desktop
• Windows
• Document Creation
Teaching and Learning Styles:
The course is structured around the use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Flexible study towards this qualification takes place within our learning centre. The course comes in a single, professionally designed and bound workbook which is clear and easy to follow. It sits beside the learner as they work through its carefully staged activities, writing answers to questions in the workbook as they go.
Entry Requirements
None
Progression & Assessment
There is no exam for this course. Satisfactory completion of the workbook is enough to gain the qualification. Learners can then take home the workbook as a handy reference for implementing their new skills.
On successful completion students can progress to ECDL Essentials Level 1.
Duration & Location
This course runs throughout the year within The Learning Shop and can typically take up to 15 hours of study.
