Course Description
This course offers an engaging programme for those who want to have a career in Administration. It will extend knowledge, skills and understanding of this area of work and is particularly suitable for those wishing to change career or move into employment following a career break.
You will study a range of units to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of working in business and administration. These will include some or all of:
- Principles of personal responsibilities and how to develop and evaluate own performance at work.
- Principles of providing and maintaining administrative services.
- Principles of managing information and producing documents in a business environment.
- Principles of working with and supervising others in a business environment.
- Building working relationships with customers
- Principles of maintaining stock.
- Principles of supporting change in a business environment.
Entry Requirements
Each applicant will be interviewed and considered on an individual basis. Although there are no formal entry requirements, successful completion of Level 2 will be an advantage. An interest in the subject area would be expected.
Progression & Assessment
The programme units will be assessed via course work to include assignments, performance observations and time constrained individual and group work or on-screen tests.
On successful completion of the programme, students could progress to employment as an administrator within the business and administration department/unit of an organisation.
Duration & Location
This is a part time course for 5 hours per week over a period of 27 weeks.
Fees
The fees for 2012/13 are to be advised.
If you are under 19 when your programme begins, you will be entitled to free tuition provided you are a European Community National.
If you are in receipt of benefits or unwaged, you may qualify for reduced fees.
