Course Description

Course Description: 

The course is designed for Civil Engineering Technicians, who have completed the National Certificate in Civil Engineering or other approved qualifications and wish to develop their expertise to meet the requirements of the Civil Engineering Industry.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements: 

National Certificate in Construction or Civil Engineering or other approved qualifications.

Progression & Assessment

Assessment and Progression: 

The award of the Higher Certificate is by continuous assessment and end of unit examinations.
The college is committed to maintaining Records of Achievement and providing appropriate feedback through action planning.

Satisfactory completion of the course will enable a student to progress to a degree course or to a professional qualification in their chosen discipline.

Duration & Location

Duration: 

Higher National Certificate – one day per week for 24 months.
Higher National Diploma – one day per week for 12 months.

Fees: 

If you already have an equivalent level of qualification, it is likely that you will be required to pay higher fees due to funding restrictions placed on the college. Please contact the course coordinator for more details

If you are under 19 on 31st August when your programme begins and study more than 12½ hours per week, you will be entitled to free tuition and no examination fees wherever you live provided you are a European Community National. Mature students may also qualify for free tuition under certain circumstances; please ask our Guidance Services for details.
