HND Applications should be made via the UCAS website at www.UCAS.com.
Progression & Assessment
Assessment Students’ work on the BTEC Higher courses is assessed via a programme of continuous assessment. Assignments will vary in format and will include individual course work, group work and in-class activities.
Students who successfully complete 8 Higher National units will be awarded the BTEC Higher National Certificate in Business. Successful completion of 16 units will lead to the award of a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business.
The HNC and HND are widely recognised qualifications in their own right, but they also provide students with access to a range of University degree programmes, and exemption is normally awarded from the first year, or first two years of the degree, depending on the grades achieved and subjects studied at HNC/HND level.
Students wishing to convert their HNC to a Higher National Diploma (HND) can do so at Lincoln College by studying an additional 8 units.
Alternatively, students may prefer to select an individual area of interest to study in greater depth in order to gain a professional qualification (eg: in accountancy, law, personnel or marketing).
