Course Description

Course Description: 

This course has been designed to provide a broad educational basis for further training and futher education or for moving into appropriate employment within the sector you are studying.  You will study TWO Certificates from three on offer, PLUS three Functional Skills (FS),  Personal & Social Development (PSD) and Alcohol Awareness.

  • Recording Business Transactions

IT

  • Improving Productivity Using IT
  • Using the Internet
  • Desktop Publishing Software
  • Word Processing Software
  • Using Email

Travel & Tourism

  • Displaying Travel & Tourism Information
  • Planning a Trip to a Visitor Attraction
  • UK Travel Destinations
  • The Role of Air Cabin Crew
  • The Role of an Overseas Resort Representative.

An important element of the programme is tutorial support which will provide support to help you to be successful.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements: 

Every applicant will be interviewed to ensure the course is the right one for them and they know what the course involves.

Progression & Assessment

Assessment and Progression: 

The programme units will be internally assessed through coursework which will include:  assignments, role-play, performance observations and individual and group assessments.

On successful completion of the programme, students could progress to employment or another college course, e.g. Level 2 Business, IT or Travel & Tourism

This will require full attendance at College for up to 4 days over a period of 36 weeks.

Fees: 

If you are under 19 when your programme begins, you will be entitled to free tuition provided you are a European Community national.  If you are in receipt of benefits or unwaged, you may qualify for reduced fees.
