Course Description
This course is made up of several qualifications giving you the knowledge and skills required to work as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner. During this 1 year programme you will study the following units providing you with a broad range of knowledge and skills associated with Childcare:
- CACHE Level 2 Award in Babysitting
- CACHE Level 2 Award in Preparation for the Responsibilities of Parenting
- CACHE Level 2 Certifi cate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People
- CACHE Level 2 Certifi cate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (QCF)
- CACHE Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid
Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSE's at grade D or above to include English Language.
- Progression from CACHE Level 1 Childcare with excellent tutor references and recommendation, Level 1 Literacy and demonstration of the ability to work at Level 2 English.
- Good reference from school, work experience and attendance report.
- A clear Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Progression & Assessment
Each unit is assessed throughout the course. A combination of assessments are used such as small assignment work, reflective journal, practical assessment of skills during the course and some small group work. There is no final or practical examination.
Progression - 2 year Level 3 qualification specialising in Early Years or Teaching Assistant.
Assistant Pre-School Workers, Assistant in Children's Centres, Assistant in Day Nurserys, Nursery Schools and Nursery Classes in Primary Schools.
