Course Description
This is an AS equivalent qualification which has been designed to enable students to meet their lifestyle aspirations. This will be achieved by applying the appropriate solutions from the wide range available within the financial services market place. The course complements the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Business but also provides the opportunity for students studying AS/A levels to gain a Level 3 vocational qualification recognised by UCAS as well as the financial services industry.
Content: Students study 3 units:
- Why Money Matters
- Risk and Reward in Personal Finance
- Making Personal Financial Judgements.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade 'C' or above, including Maths and English Language.
Progression & Assessment
All units are externally assessed and are paper based examinations.
On successful completion of the Certificate in Financial Studies, students are in a position to seek employment in the Financial Services sector, i.e. Business Banking, Retail Banking or Insurance.
Duration & Location
For the duration of one year (136 hours) starting in September.
Fees
If you are under 19 when your programme begins, you will be entitled to free tuition provided you are a European Community National. If you are in receipt of benefit or unwaged, you may qualify for reduced fees.
