C&G Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing (VRQ)

This is a programme designed for progression from the Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing VRQ/NVQ and the practicing hairdresser or salon owner.

The programme comprises of specialised hairdressing techniques including:

• Monitor and maintain Health and Safety practices
• Promote additional products or services to clients
• Provide hairdressing consultation services
• Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
• Colour hair using a variety of techniques
• Provide colour correction service
• Creatively style and dress hair
• Bridal Hair
• Display stock to promote sales in a Salon.

You will be given the opportunity to attend trade shows and seminars as well as getting involved in competition work.

Students must have completed the VRQ/NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing, have a 95% attendance rate, a satisfactory reference and completion of a skills test.  Relevant practical experience will be taken into account.

You will be assessed through practical observations, assignments, written tests and portfolio work.

All candidates will follow a Functional Skills/GCSE programme in English or maths.

On completion of this programme, students may progress onto a Level 4 Management course or into Teaching or Assessing.  This qualification also leads to employment on Health Farms and Cruise Liners.
