Course Description
This NVQ is suitable for warehouse/storage operatives working within a warehousing and storage environment undertaking routine tasks associated with the industry.
Content
Candidates are required to complete eight units, comprising of two mandatory units and 6 optional units.
Mandatory Units
- Maintain health, safety and security of logistics operations
- Develop effective working relationships with coleagues in logistics operations.
Optional Units
The following are a selection of the 15 optional units available.
- Provide customers with information and advice on goods and services
- Operate equipment to perform work requirements
- Move goods in logistics facilities
- Receive goods from deliveries
- Place goods in storage
- Maintain the safety and quality of goods
- Maintain the safety of hazardous goods and materials
- Maintain hygiene standards in handling and storing goods
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this NVQ. However, candidates must have the potential and opportunity to gain evidence for the qualification in the work place.
Progression & Assessment
Candidates will have access to a tutor who will support them throughout the programme. The tutor will agree a schedule of work that suits the individual in terms of their existing commitments and workload. Candidates will be required to prepare a portfolio of evidence that reflects their competence at performing the necessary skills associated with the qualification.
Duration & Location
An NVQ Level 2 will typically take one year to complete.
Fees
The fee includes work place visits, observations, portfolio building, registration with the awarding body and guidance. Fees are payable at the beginning of the programme.
