Course Description
ECDL Extra is a widely recognised full level 2 IT user qualification; designed to demonstrate your IT skills using common Office applications.
ECDL Extra builds on the learner's initial experience and basic knowledge and improves their understanding of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
The course can be studied using both Windows XP with Microsoft Office 2003 or Windows 7 with Microsoft Office 2010.
Entry Requirements
Although there are no formal entry requirements for enrolment onto ECDL Extra, it is recommended that you have already acheived the ECDL Essentials at Level 1 or have equivalent experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Progression & Assessment
The course consists of 4 modules. Each of the 4 modules is completed by passing an independant assessment. All assessments are taken at the Learning Shop.
On successful completion of the ECDL Extra qualification you may progress onto ECDL Advanced or ITQ FlexiQual at level 3 subject to the successful completion of an IT diagnostic.
Duration & Location
Courses running throughout the year within The Learning Shop and typically take up to 120 hours of study, with a minimum attendance of 4 hours per week at times to suit you. Sessions available Monday to Friday including Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
