Course Description
We live in a diverse society and come into contact with people who have different backgrounds, views, values and beliefs, and this course aims to allow people to develop their knowledge of these issues and anti-discrimination laws that relate to equality and diversity.
Content
The course is a distance learning programme. The learning materials provided contain the knowledge needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course and activities to allow learners to practise their skills and test their learning. Candidates work through the learning materials and complete assessments for each unit. Learning activities and assessments are based on a combination of knowledge and skills learned on the programme and work-based activities and experience.
The course consists of three units including:
- The meaning and importance of equality and diversity
- Social and individual prejudice and discrimination
- Individual and organisational rights and responsibilities.
Each candidate will have access to a tutor who will support and encourage them throughout the duration of the programme.
Entry Requirements
None required
Progression & Assessment
Candidates work through the course material and complete an assessment for each unit. The assessments are sent to the centre to be marked by a dedicated tutor. Each candidate will be provided with detailed feedback for all written work submitted.
Progression
There is a wide range of industry specific NVQs or other vocational qualifications that include aspects of equality and diversity.
Duration & Location
The duration of this course is approx 120 hours studied over a period of 20 weeks.
Fees
The course fee is £100 to include all learning materials, tutor support and assessments.
