Foundation Certificate in Engineering Level 1

Programme Aim:
A full time course suitable for anyone wishing to experience a wide variety of engineering activities relevant to industry. Training is at foundation level and of a predominantly practical nature. The aim is to provide both experience and knowledge on which to base future career and associated course decisions.

Programme Content:
The course is divided into five separate units which are:

• Certificate in Engineering And Technology Level 1 including:-

• Unit 001: Introduction to Working In Engineering
• Unit 003: Introduction To Cutting,Forming,And Assembling Engineering Materials
• Unit 004: Introduction to Joining Engineering Materials
• Unit 014: Introduction To Basic Maths And Science Used In Engineering
• Unit 017: Introduction To Engineering Production Planning
• Key Skills Level 1
• NVQ PEO Level 1

Mode of Attendance:
This is a full time one year course. Enrolment is in September, the dates and times can be obtained from the College and appear in the local press.
 

Interview and assessment.

Progression:
Successful completion gives a sound preparation for training or employment in production or maintenance, and/or progression to Level 2 Engineering. 

Fees for the 2013/14 academic year are currently under review. Figures given below are indicative only and subject to change. Fees will be posted here as soon as they become available.

If you are under 19 on 31 August in the year when your programme begins and study more than 12.5 hours per week, you will be entitled to free tuition and no examination fee wherever you live provided you are a European Community National.  Please ask our Guidance Services for details.
