Course Description
A full time course suitable for anyone wishing to experience a wide variety of engineering activities relevant to industry. Training is at foundation level and of a predominantly practical nature. The aim is to provide both experience and knowledge on which to base future career and associated course decisions.
Programme Content:
The course is divided into five separate units which are:
• Certificate in Engineering And Technology Level 1 including:-
Unit 001: Introduction to Working In Engineering
Unit 003: Introduction To Cutting,Forming,And Assembling Engineering Materials
Unit 004: Introduction to Joining Engineering Materials
Unit 014: Introduction To Basic Maths And Science Used In Engineering
Unit 017: Introduction To Engineering Production Planning
Key Skills Level 1
NVQ PEO Level 1
Units are divided into underpinning knowledge requirements and practical activities. Teaching is of a supportive nature which includes user friendly continuous assessment and knowledge based tests, these encourage and enable students to achieve the required level of competence.
Entry Requirements
Interview and assessment.
Progression & Assessment
Successful completion gives a sound preparation for training or employment in production or maintenance, and/or progression to City & Guilds 2800 II Certificate in Engineering & NVQ Performing Engineering Operations II.
Duration & Location
This is a full time one year course.
Fees
This programme is free for qualifying 16 to 19 year old students.
