Course Description
This programme provides an introduction into the Beauty Therapy industry and opportunities for candidates to gain knowledge and practical skills in basic beauty treatments.
The course will focus on the following:
- Introduction to the Beauty Sector
- English, Maths and ICT
- C&G Award in Employability and Personal Development
Entry Requirements
It is advisable for students to possess a keen interest in beauty therapy and have a good educational background. Selection is subject to a satisfactory interview, assessment and school report.
Progression & Assessment
Students will be continuously assessed through a series of assignments and practical activities. There will be an element of external testing.
All students aged 16 - 19 will follow a Functional Skills programme of maths, English and IT. Assessment will be via a portfolio of evidence and external tests.
Successful completion of this programme may allow progression onto Level 2 Beauty Therapy. There is no guarantee of progression onto further levels of study without meeting the entry criteria for the course, including a clear disciplinary record and at least 95% attendance.
This qualification may also allow for progression onto Hairdressing or Retail and Commercial qualifications.
Employment opportunities may be available within the retail and commercial sector.
