Course Description
The NVQ in business Administration is a work-related, competence-based qualification which reflects the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively. It is based on national occupational standards which describe what competent people involved in a particular occupation are expected to be able to do. This qualification is achieved through assessment and training.
The NVQ in Business Administration is for those working in an office environment.

The NVQ is made up of mandatory and optional units. At level 2 candidates must complete three optional units and two mandatory units. At level 3 candidates must complete four optional units and two mandatory units.
Entry Requirements
There is no prescribed recommended prior knowledge, attainment or experience needed to gain access to this qualification. It is recommended that potential candidates are initially assessed on entry, so that levels of literacy, numeracy, communication skills and sector understanding can be determined. This initial assessment will consider previous qualifications and practical experience. Candidates will be employed within the industry or in a realistic working environment and as such would have been throug a selection process.
Progression & Assessment
Candidates will have access to a tutor who will support them throughout the programme. The tutor will agree a schedule of work that suits the individual in terms of their existing commitments and workload. Candidates will be required to prepare a portfolio of evidence that reflects their competence at performing the necessary skills associated with the qualification.
Duration & Location
An NVQ Level 2 will typically take one year to complete.
Fees
The fee includes work place visits, observations, portfolio building, registration with the awarding body and guidance. Fees are payable at the beginning of the programme.
