Course Description
The Certificate in Adult Literacy covers everyday word skills like reading and understanding English, as well as some features of writing such as spelling, grammar and punctuation.
This nationally recognised certificate will give you extra confidence and a sense of achievement. It can help you achieve more in life - whether you want to help your children, gain promotion at work, or change to a more rewarding job, there's nothing like an extra qualification to prove how much you know.
The Adult Literacy Certificate is an equivalent level to a GCSE but does not cover the entire GCSE Syllabus:
- Level 1 Literacy - is an equivalent level to GCSE grade D - G
- Level 2 Literacy - is an equivalent level to GCSE grade A - C
The learning materials used within The Learning Shop are online. Some additional paper-based exercises may be used to enhance the learning process.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements. However, candidates will need to complete an initial assessment to determine the appropriate level to start at.
