Course Description
The Certificate in Adult Numeracy focuses on every day number skills, understanding and interpreting numerical information, calculating and measuring skills.
Learners will complete an initial assessment to determine the level appropriate. Once this is complete a learning plan will be put together by a tutor. The learning materials used within the centre are online and some additional paper based exercises may be used to enhance the learning process.
The Adult Numeracy Certificate is an equivalent level to a GCSE:
Level 1 - Equivalent to GCSE grade D - G
Level 2 - Equivalent to GCSE grade A - C

Progression & Assessment
The assessment method for this course is an online multiple choice test consisting of 40 questions. All assessments are taken at The Learning Shop.

The Learning Shop offers a wide variety of courses, please speak to a member of staff for details.
Duration & Location
The duration for Level 1 and Level 2 is 32 hours and is studied for a period of 8 weeks.
Learners are required to attend The Learning Shop for a minimum of 4 hours a week on a flexible basis in order to obtain the qualification. This course is also available to access online but regular attendance to The Learning Shop is still required.
