Welcome to the Governance section of Lincoln College.

The Corporation is the Governing Body of the College, comprised of people from a range of backgrounds reflecting the community and the businesses the College serves, and staff and learners.

The Corporation is responsible for the overall functioning of the College. In general terms, it is responsible for the quality of service that the College offers to learners and the local community, as well as the College’s financial health and its strategic direction.

These pages provide an open access point to the workings of the Corporation and include minutes of meetings as well as a range of other information about the Corporation and its Governors.

The Corporation is the College's governing body and it meets regularly during the year to consider strategic developments, systematic monitoring of College and Management performance and prescribed compliance reports. There are also Committees as part of our Governance structure.

The Audit Committee advises the Corporation on the effectiveness of the College’s internal control systems through the work undertaken by the external and internal auditors. They adhere to the Audit Code of Practice, to provide assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the College’s corporate governance and are independent of College management.

The Standards Committee provide Corporation with an annual report on quality assurance and advises Corporation about student recruitment, retention and achievement. It reviews academic standards and benchmarking and acts as the review group for the Self-Assessment Report. It regularly receives reports as part of the Quality Audit Programme.

The Finance Committee supports the Corporation on issues relating to the financial management of the College including value for money, risk management, solvency, the safeguarding of the College’s assets and the stewardship of public funds.
