How we help you
Your study
Lincoln has an excellent track record in ensuring that international students complete their chosen course of study. Our International Office team offers a wide variety of support for students.
Arrival
To ensure that you arrive safely at your destination, Lincoln College will arrange for a taxi to collect you from the airport. This is a free service arranged by the International Team.
Your first weeks
Members of the International Team will assist you in registering with the local police and medical centre, opening a bank account and of course, familiarising you with the college campus and city centre. The college staff will assist you with any questions you may have about your choice of course and be on hand to help you settle into your new environment.
Making friends
International students find it easy to make friends here at Lincoln College. As well as spending time with them on your chosen course, we arrange social events for you during your stay to allow you to socialise with your fellow students.
Pastoral and welfare support
We provide a confidential counselling service to students, while the Chaplain offers spiritual support. We are developing relationships with other faith leaders locally to support the growing number of students from other faiths and have a multi-faith room open to anyone for quiet meditation, prayer or meetings.
Career and education advice
Our Guidance Advisers are able to offer impartial careers and course information, advice and guidance to current students and anyone thinking about coming to College to learn new skills or update existing qualifications. We help you draw up an action plan of the steps you need to take to achieve your career and education goals. Our service has achieved the prestigious nationally recognised Matrix quality award.
Students with learning difficulties and disabilities
We can assess the support needs of students who identify themselves or are referred by tutors. A large team of specialist workers supports students with learning difficulties and disabilities. The team provide support, specialist equipment and adapted resources. We are also responsible for arranging exam concessions and extra time for students with a disability or health problems.
