The Friary Learning Centre (FLC) at Lincoln campus was opened in October 2003 by Gillian Merron, the former MP for Lincoln.

Its name originates from the excavations of the 12th Century Dominican Black Friary over which it now stands.

The Centre was funded by a grant from the European Regional Development Fund and a Single Regeneration Budget organised by Lincoln City Council, to serve the students, staff and managers of the College, as well as providing a resource base for the local catchment area and the local business community.
