Announcing additional A Levels at Newark Sixth: Fine Art and Graphic Design
Newark school leavers can now elect to study A Levels in Fine Art or Graphic Design as part of the exciting post 16 options at Newark Sixth.
The new additions will sit alongside other A Level subjects and allow students to study full-time at Newark or mix options with those A Levels available at Lincoln.
Students will be taught in fully equipped art studios and benefit from the newly developed ‘Newark Sixth’ facilities which include open access IT suites, classrooms and social areas.(further details in a following release).
Tutors, with industry experience and who are expert in their fields, will provide high quality teaching; guiding and encouraging students to reach their full potential.
Geared towards providing a solid grounding in their respective disciplines, both subjects encourage the development of creative skills in drawing, colour, design and composition, whilst providing an introduction to historical and contextual aspects of art and design.
School of Sport, Media and the Arts Director Martin Booth says, “We are delighted to be offering these additional A Levels as part of Newark Sixth. Historically our students have used their high success rates to go onto bright futures at university and so we are excited to be able the same opportunities to students in Newark. Many stay with us post A Level to study on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and a new collaboration with the University of the Arts London, incorporating such prestigious institutions as the London College of Fashion and Central St. Martins, means that this preparatory route to university is now validated by some of the most highly regarded organisations.
