Gainsborough Fun Day Saturday 20 March 2010

Gainsborough Fun DayThe annual Gainsborough Fun Day is nearly here. On Saturday 20 March the Learning Communities, ACIS and Gainsborough College will again be hosting a variety of different local agencies on the College’s Acland Street campus, and will be putting on dozens of activities that will entertain the public.

As usual it will be a huge event with free stalls, rides, crafts and things to try.

The whole college will be open and all are invited to try their hand at cake icing, fitness tests, massage, hair treatments, manicures, bricklaying etc. Visitors can talk to the Fire Service, the Police or the St John’s Ambulance volunteers and they can even learn to play the spoons!

You can sample free cocktails, have a go on the gladiator challenge or try the Zorbs. For the little ones there will be a ball pond, a bouncy castle and face painting. For the more energetic there will be challenges in Automotive and Construction Skills as well as a bungee run and rowing machine.

This really is a day of fun for all the family. Everything is free except the excellent food in the Snackshack, if you get peckish you can buy a light lunch or snack – teas and coffees are free.

Back by popular demand and welcoming all will be Gainsborough’s own Ali G. This gentleman can turn up in any guise so watch out for a stranger in your midst.

Staff will be on hand to advise anyone who wants to check out local learning opportunities and to help if you want to try out a skill or need advice on what course might suit you.

From 11.00 am until 3.30 Gainsborough College will be host to hundreds – make sure you don’t miss out.
