Eco Centre Visit

One hundred and thirty students are taking advantage of a visit to the Ecotech Centre today in support of a qualification they are taking in sustainability skills. Located in Swaffham, Norfolk, the centre has been developed into a visitor centre for sustainability, where the students have the chance to ascend the only climbable wind turbine open to the public in the world and learn about how it works and the construction of it.

The students are being taught about planting, green buildings and how to build eco-friendly houses. Plus they are taking part in a turbine challenge, designing and modelling their own turbine kit which they can then compare the effectiveness of and use it to measure the electricity they produce or to power light bulbs. The centre also has an exhibition area, organic garden and heritage orchard which all have educational value that students and the public can visit.
