Lincoln College was delighted to have Gillian Merron MP open a pioneering Innovation in Construction event, on Friday 5 February, which was scheduled as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Solar panels, insulation and recycling are just some of the well-known ways that our homes can contribute to helping the environment. But a pioneering new project is looking at how innovative new technologies used in building homes will contribute to meeting Government targets on reducing carbon emissions.
Lincoln College is delighted to be working with partner colleges across the East Midlands on a project set to revolutionise the construction industry in light of the Government’s Strategy for Sustainable Construction.
Lincoln College scheduled the event as part of National Apprenticeship Week and saw apprentices, employers and local business leaders gather at Lincoln College to witness first hand the leading technologies set to transform the construction industry.
With impressive equipment, each partner college demonstrated the innovative components in their specialist field to a captive audience of industry trainees and professionals.
As the future workforce our, construction apprentices and their employers, are a vital audience for these cutting edge technology demonstrations as they will be charged with tackling the challenging targets and frequently changing legislations.
