Lincoln College offers an alternative the studying at a University and offers a broad range of courses to help individuals take the next steps to a successful career and achieve their ambitions.
Below is some general guidance about how to apply, however we are on hand to talk you through the process and about your options.
Clearing is the system run by UCAS that offers students the opportunity to apply for available places on their chosen course. Every year thousands of students find courses to suit their individual needs through use of the national Clearing process.
At Lincoln College, we welcome hundreds of part-time students each year, and application is via direct contact with the College.
If you are considering a part-time and full-time route, or are unsure how your chosen course is delivered, please contact the College direct on 01522 876398.
The basic steps in the Clearing process are listed below.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us - 01522 876398 or 030 030 32435 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your initial UCAS application has been unsuccessful and you would still like to go to university, you will be able to enter into Clearing. An “Add Clearing Choice” button will appear on your UCAS Track screen if you are eligible, which you can use to apply for available courses.
UCAS Track - https://track.ucas.com/
UCAS publishes a list of all vacancies on their website www.ucas.com. You will need to act quickly, but make sure you don’t rush any decisions. Research the courses available and make a list of those you are interested in.
When you contact an institution they will ask for your exam results. They will also ask for your Clearing number (you’ll find this displayed on the ‘welcome page’ in UCAS Track).
The person you speak to will want to determine whether you are suitable for the course, so be prepared to answer various questions about your reasons for applying. You may also like to prepare a list of questions that will help you decide if the institution and course is the right option for you. Some courses may require an interview to see a portfolio of work, so it is important to ensure you are prepared and available at short notice.
Lincoln College’s Clearing hotline number is 01522 876398. If you meet our entry requirements and we have vacancies, we’ll make you a provisional offer immediately over the phone and send you an email confirming the details.
If you wish to formally accept an offer, you will need to log onto UCAS Track and click the “Add Clearing Choice” button. You’ll be asked to enter the Institution Code and course details. Once the university has replied, you will see their acceptance displayed in the “Choices” section of Track. UCAS will also send you a letter confirming the acceptance.
Once you have accepted a place at Lincoln College, we will send you information about enrolment and starting your course.
