The Access to University programme (Access to HE Diploma) aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for Higher Education, particularly those wishing to study the core modules of Business and Management and specialise in areas that can allow a greater range of courses to study at university or college.
This is an intensive course for students aged 19 and over, especially intended for those returning to education.
Completion of this course could allow you direct entry into a Degree or Higher Education. During this programme, you will study: Study Skills and Personal and Career Development – includes discussion, practice of writing skills, time management and presentation techniques; Tutorial – support and guidance service.

Entry requirements
You will need Mathematics and English GCSE (minimum grade 4 or equivalent) prior to enrolling on the programme.
Some universities may accept Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications instead of GCSEs. If you possess a Level 2 equivalent and have written evidence that the university you intend to apply to accepts them as part of their entry requirements, you will be accepted onto the Access to University course.

Assessment is a combination of written assessments and assignments.
Progression
Completion of this course could allow you direct entry into a Degree or Higher Education. CAVA Access to HE Diploma students will now benefit from a reduction of 8 UCAS points towards admission to most of University of Lincoln's courses. This reduction will be applied at the point of application to each CAVA-registered student.
