If you want to pursue a career in Guitar Making and Repair, this is an excellent place to start. This Foundation Year is a one-year full-cost course that will help provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge.
You are introduced to the basic elements of guitar making and explore the skills, techniques and working practices required to build an instrument. Course work is 'hands-on'; however, you will also gain an understanding of the theories associated with instrument construction.
Entry requirements
You will need to demonstrate commitment to the subject and have some practical craft or woodworking experience. A good command of spoken and written English is also essential. The qualification is not available to learners from outside the UK.
Assessment & Progression
There is no exam. Coursework is all internally assessed and verified.
