If you want to pursue a career in childcare as a nursery assistant or within the Early Years Foundation Stage in pre-schools or schools then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to begin a career in the childcare industry. This course includes knowledge on child development, safeguarding, health and safety in childcare settings, equality, diversity and inclusion and practical aspects of communication, promoting child development and planning, carrying out and evaluating activities. This apprenticeship also develops the knowledge for Employment Rights and Responsibilites, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and builds on your current English and Maths skills. Upon successful completion you may be able to progress onto the level 3 Apprenticeship or gain employment within the sector.
You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week and successfully pass a diagnostic exam in English, Mathematics and ICT at Level 1.
Assessment is a combination of practical tasks, written assignments, oral discussions and online tests.
