If you wish to pursue a career in an exciting and diverse industry and are good with practical work and have an eye for detail, plastering & decorative finishes could be a great career for you.
During the course, you will study: Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication; Apply Plastering Materials to interiors; Fix Dry Lining to an Interior Wall; Laying Sand and Cement Screeds; Applying Plastering Materials to External Backgrounds; Produce Reverse Moulds for Fibrous Work and Casting and Fixing Fibrous Plasterwork.
Completion of this programme can lead to full-time employment with a plastering company or becoming a self-employed plasterer, following the completion of a work based NVQ, or other options for further education such as an Advanced Apprenticeship.
You will need GCSE’s including English and Maths (minimum Grade F - Grade E is preferred). You must also be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week.
Assessment is a combination of practical observations within the workplace and online written assignments.
