What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Greet patients and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner
- Proactively communicate information between relevant patients, doctors and professionals
- Provide an effective and polite telephone enquiry service
- Booking, amending and cancelling patients appointments
- Issue prescriptions
- Monitor task lists
- Ensure the Reception and waiting area is always tidy
- Sending letters as instructed
- Coding patient information
- Carry our relief duties that may be required due to sickness or annual leave

What Training Will the Apprentice Take and What Qualification Will the Apprentice Get at the End?
The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Customer Service Specialist Level 3.
Training will take place in the workplace with regular visits from their assigned assessor.
What is the Expected Career Progression After this Apprenticeship?
Permanent employment is expected following successful completion of the qualification.
