The BSc (Hons) Electrical Engineering (Production Automation) degree programme is delivered as part of Lincoln College's involvement in the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology.
The Production Technology sector considers current automation, robotics system, small/rapid production and prototyping technologies and explores how these can be best monitored and managed by applying the boarder technologies studied.
The Lincolnshire IOT has invested heavily in sector specific equipment and software in order for this course to provide you with high level applied skills relevant to the rapidly developing Production Automation sector.

Students will study on the Lincoln College Campus for the full duration of the course. Full-time, three years. Course contact hours are to be confirmed.
Whilst the sessions delivered at College will typically fall between Monday and Friday from 9am – 5pm, it is expected that students will complete the online study, in addition to the independent study, outside of these times. Students should also make themselves available to complete work experience hours outside of these times.
Many of the opportunities offered through the college will require commitment during evenings and weekends.

Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (IOT)
The Institutes of Technology (IOT) have been formed across England to enhance the career and employment chances of young people and adults.
The IOT Electrical Engineering programmes at Lincoln College are aimed to develop engineers with a broad understanding of Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering applied to the current and emerging technologies and issues of the Electrical Power/Sustainable Energy sector, the Production Technology sector and the Control via connected devices sector. Students on these courses spend a significant time working with industry-standard equipment in our new facility located in the Gibney building.

How to Apply
This course is validated by the University of Hull. The validating institution is responsible for awarding the qualification at the end of the programme. Students on validated courses are OfS registered, funded and taught at Lincoln College and it is the responsibility of the College to manage all aspects of this provision. The validating institution maintains an oversight of the programme throughout the academic year and must be satisfied that students are being taught in line with the required academic standards of the awarding institution. A minimum of 80 UCAS Tariff points from:
- GCE A and AS Levels with at least one subject at A Level in Maths and Physics
- BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject (Engineering discipline)
- Access to HE Diploma
- T Levels
- Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher with at least one subject at Advanced Higher
- GCSE English – Grade C/4 or above
- GCSE Maths – Grade C/4 or above
*For mature applicants, some experience may be taken in lieu of A Levels/BTECs
EU and International Applicants
ENIC confirmed equivalent of 80 UCAS points
IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Equivalent English language qualifications are acceptable for applicants not requiring a Tier 4 student visa

Our Production Automation pathway could enable learners to have careers in: manufacture, assembly, product testing and shipping, robotics, food process control, food processing and handling machinery, Agri-Tech and many more. Graduates may also continue their studies at postgraduate level.

Tuition fees will remain unchanged for the duration of a student’s continuous enrolment.

Additional compulsory course costs can be paid for using the Career Degree Bursary. The scheme allows students to access the bursary (up to a maximum value of £500 for full-time or £250 part-time students) for additional optional courses, workshops, professional memberships and resources. There is no cash alternative. Students who wish to access opportunities in excess of the Career Degree Bursary may do so at full cost to themselves.
