Lincoln College Open Day
29 June, 2019 – 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Our Level 3 furniture making programme is a continuation from the Level 2 programme and will ensure you develop your skills whilst maintaining a high standard. You will explore and develop the concept of both designing and producing furniture to your own designs in much more detail. The aim of this course is to provide you with the opportunity to embrace complexity and push your skill level further.
During the course, you will study: prototype design; research and product development; hand finishing methods and supervision in the industry.
You will need to have successfully completed a Level 2 Furniture Making programme or have appropriate knowledge of both theoretical and practical skills and will ideally have experience using both hand and power tools.
You will also be required to have GCSEs in Mathematics and English (minimum Grade 3 or equivalent). You will be required to attend an interview and where possible provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
Successful completion of this programme will provide you a strong portfolio to establish yourself within the industry, either in employment, self-employment or to progress to a degree course.
Fees listed are for those aged 19 years and over only. Fees are subject to change, concessions may apply. Please note that where stated, fees are for the first year of a course only. Please contact us for information and advice.
