Bricklaying is a programme that will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress through the levels of brick and block laying whilst exploring theoretically and practically preparing you for the construction industry.
During the course, you will study: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction; Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication; Building Solid Walling, Isolated and Attached Piers; Interpreting Working Drawings to Set Out Masonry Structures; Construct Cavity Walling Forming Masonry Structures.

You will typically need to have successfully completed a Level 1 Bricklaying programme and have GCSEs in Mathematics and English (preferably a minimum Grade 2 or equivalent). You will also be required to attend a Welcome Day event (which includes an interview) and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of practical assessments and both paper based and online theory examinations
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma could lead onto potential careers including: professional bricklayer, working within the construction industry and working as a bricklayer.
