This course includes practical and theoretical elements of Painting & Decorating, providing you with the skills and knowledge to progress. This programme will also offer you support, preparing you for the construction industry.
Successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma could lead onto potential careers including: working within the construction industry and working as a painter and decorator.
During the course, you will study: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction; Principles of Organising, Planning and Pricing Construction Work; Information and Communication; Applying Hangings to Walls and Ceilings; Producing Specialist Finishes for Painted Decorative Work; Erecting and Dismantling Access Equipment and Working Platforms; Producing Specialist Architectural Finishes for Decorative Work; Applying Water-Borne Paint Systems by Airless Spray Equipment; Applying Water-Borne Paint Systems by HVLP Spray Equipment.
You will need to have successfully completed a Level 2 Painting & Decorating programme or have appropriate knowledge of both theoretical and practical skills and will ideally have experience using both hand and power tools. You will also be required to have GCSE’s in Mathematics and English (minimum Grade E or equivalent). You will also be required to pass a trade test as-well as a literacy and numeracy test. You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
