Why not pursue a career as an accounting technician.
The AAT Education and Training Scheme offers 3 levels of study: Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. Students can commence study at the Certificate level with no previous accounting experience. Students must register with the AAT to be eligible to sit the examinations.
This programme is also available as an Apprenticeship giving young people aged 16 and over the opportunity to combine the experience of working, with the added benefit of college attendance on a day release (or evening) basis.
The subjects covered are:
Work effectively in finance
Elements of Costing
Using Accounting Software
You will need 5 GCSEs to include Mathematics and English Language (minimum grade 4/C or equivalent). You are also required to provide a reference and undertake a diagnostic assessment.
All units are assessed by AAT computer based tests which are taken as students progress through the course.
On successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, students may progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. Preference for enrolment will be given to those students who have passed all of their examinations at the first attempt with good feedback. Those students who have not passed their examinations at the first attempt, but have passed the overall level, will be placed on a waiting list.
Fees listed are for those aged 19 years and over only. Fees are subject to change, concessions may apply. Please note that where stated, fees are for the first year of a course only. Please contact us for information and advice.
