Study Details

You will study on the Lincoln College Campus for the full durations of the course, using our dedicated teaching areas.

HNC - 2 years - 1 day per week

HND Top Up - 1 year - 1 day per week

Whilst the sessions delivered at College will typically fall between Monday and Friday from 9am – 5pm, it is expected that students will complete the online study, in addition to the independent study, outside of these times. Students should also make themselves available to complete work experience hours outside of these times. Many of the opportunities offered through the college will require commitment during evenings and weekends.
A minimum of 48 UCAS Tariff points from the following:
GCE A Levels and AS Levels
BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
Access to HE
Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher with at least one subject at Advanced Higher

GCSE English – grade C/4 or above
GCSE Maths – grade C/4 or above

EU and International applicants
NARIC confirmed equivalent of 48 UCAS points
IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
Equivalent English Language qualifications are acceptable for applicants not requiring a Tier 4 visa.
There are typically 4 assignments per unit delivered. The assessment methods used throughout the programme include: Practical work Electronic simulations Written assignments Tests The programme specification details the assessment strategy for each unit, including the relevant task weightings.

HNC and HND qualifications are widely recognised in their own right and provide students with the skills required for employment in a range of associated professions. On successful completion of the course students can top up to degree level at another higher education institution. The point of entry will depend on the chosen institution and the subjects studied and the grades achieved at HNC/D.
Home and EU Students £3300.00 per academic year

Tuition fees will remain unchanged for the duration of a student’s continuous enrolment.

Additional compulsory course costs will be paid for using the Career Degree Bursary. The scheme allows students to access the remainder of the bursary (up to a maximum value of £500 / £250) for additional optional courses, workshops, professional memberships and resources. There is no cash alternative. Students who wish to access opportunities in excess of the Career Degree Bursary may do so at full cost to themselves.

This course is validated by Pearson. The validating institution is responsible for awarding the qualification at the end of the programme. Students on validated courses are HEFCE registered, funded and taught at Lincoln College and it is the responsibility of the College to manage all aspects of this provision. The validating institution maintains an oversight of the programme throughout the academic year and must be satisfied that students are being taught in line with the required academic standards of the awarding institution.
