On top of this fantastic achievement of a pass rate of 100 per cent in 13 subjects, one of the stand out results was mathematics, which saw students exceed expectations, with 44% of learners achieving A* and A grades.
Lincoln College Group Managing Director for Education and Training, Mark Locking, said he was delighted for the students and their families, particularly in light of the disruptions students have faced this year.
“I’m really proud of the hard work, dedication and tenacity of our students, who now have a great platform to enter higher education, or to start their careers,” he said.
“Lockdown was a huge challenge for our staff and students, but thankfully both rose to that challenge and our online learning engagement was fantastic.
“This is a great moment for our students and their families, who have supported them over the last couple of years and through the last few very difficult months.
“It is also testament to the hard work of our teaching staff, who adapted to remote teaching exceptionally well. They also put a huge amount of work into very carefully producing tutor-assessed grades, which were then subject to external scrutiny.
“Clearly, as with every year, some students will be disappointed or surprised with their results. We will do our best to support these learners and our Guidance Team will be available throughout the summer for telephone and online consultations. Some students may also feel they need to challenge their grades. We welcome this challenge in what is a very unusual year and we will support any students who wish to re-sit their exams.
“Many of our A-Level students will now progress to study a Career Degree with Lincoln College.
“We have space available on many of our courses and it’s not too late to apply. We can reassure students that they will be able to come into college to have face-to-face lectures and seminars from September on our COVID-secure campuses.
“We have also just launched a new Professional Policing Degree which is proving hugely popular, but we still have a few spaces left for those who want to apply.”
