The project has been nominated under the award for Resident Employment/Training Initiative of the Year. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday 16 May 2018 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
The project saw three groups of students from a range of construction areas work on social housing properties including one one-bed flat with kitchen replacement, a three-bed maisonette in Gainsborough and a three-bed semi-detached house in Kettlethorpe.
While on site, students were given the chance to work and learn from Acis Group multi-skilled technicians and gain invaluable industry relevant experience.
Rick Long, Head of Career Colleges, International Delivery & ESOL at Lincoln College said “we are very excited to have reached this stage of the competition which gives our employer-led partnership and our Construction Career College students’ recognition.
“The work we complete with Acis benefits the local communities and increases the learner experience to ensure they are employment ready with good practical understanding.
“We are looking forward to continuing this work with Acis and giving more of our current and future student’s great sector-relevant opportunities.”
