Charlie ready to start next big adventure following A-Level results

August 13 2020

Charlie Nettleton says she is looking forward to starting her next big adventure after getting her A-Levels at Lincoln College.

Charlie got A grades in both English Language and English Literature, and also gained a B in History.

“I am elated although it feels unreal considering what has been said on the news about thousands of students not receiving their expected grades.

“Last night I did worry about everything going wrong, but as of getting my results this morning, I don’t think it has actually sank in yet because I feel really calm. I did have a few tears of joy initially though. I am just really happy though.”

Charlie was already at Lincoln College studying on a BTEC Course (Computing and Information Technology Level 3) when she decided to change to do A-Levels.

“This did make my options much easier because I already had a slice of the college experience and what the college generally offered, where I felt I could take charge of my qualifications more than in a school environment.

“I liked the growing up college allowed me to do whilst I studied - I felt independent, and also I feel as though it encouraged me to want to achieve and pursue the best grades I could get.

“Lincoln College staff are really supportive and always put in more than you would expect, always going the extra mile.

“Additionally, Lincoln college is located perfectly where I could always pop into town on my breaks to get away from the ‘education’ feel, but I also had the options of going to the library or student common room or cafeterias if I didn’t want to venture too far. All options I found were helpful in encouraging me to continue studying and relaxing in balance.”

Charlie is preparing now to start a English and History Joint Honours degree at University of Nottingham.

“I’m really look forward to joining the University next month to start my next adventure,” she said.
