Construction Career College students cop awards

July 10 2018

Learners from Gainsborough College celebrated their achievements at their awards ceremony last Thursday.

The Construction Career College provides employer-led, career focussed education and technical training for 16 to 19-year-olds.

Local employers work closely with the College to provide this unique and innovative model, which is designed to create secure career paths for young people and address the growing issue of skills gaps in Lincolnshire.

Awards and winners included: 

Best Brickwork Student sponsored by Gelder Group: Jack Jarvis
Most Improved Brickwork Student sponsored by Acis: Matthew Foster
Best Joinery Student sponsored by Lindum Group: Adam Greener
Most Improved Joinery Student sponsored by Woodhead Group: Natasha Murray
Dedication and Performance in English and Maths sponsored by RG Carter: Aiden Bradford

Head of Career Colleges at Lincoln College Rick Long said: “Our awards ceremony was an excellent example of the value placed by the construction industry on education. 

“The local employers working collaboratively with the Construction Career College have delivered exciting programmes and experiences that better develop these young people for a rewarding career. 

“This event was made extra special with the announcement of two further apprenticeship offers to our winning students.”
