During the meeting, businesses heard from Western Power and their plans for infrastructure for future Lincoln economic growth, City of Lincoln Council, alongside the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, with their involvement in the Industrial Strategy, identifying the skills gaps and the successfully delivered transport hub due for completion later this year and Russell Copley from Business Lincolnshire about funding opportunities for the engineering sector.
Michael Johnson MBE spoke as the East Midlands Apprenticeship Ambassador and has inspired Karen Lee MP to become an ambassador herself.
Karen Lee MP, former student at Lincoln College and is proud of her Lincolnshire roots.
Karen said “I am pleased to hear of some of the improvements that have been made to boost productivity and connectivity for Lincoln, and learn of the challenges currently facing our engineering businesses in Lincolnshire at the moment.
“I am keen to speak to those I have met today on a one-to-one basis after this meeting and see how I can raise the profile of the great investment and innovation taking place, and see how I can work with individuals to keep us moving forward.”
