The event provided local engineering firms with a great opportunity to promote apprenticeships, work placement opportunities and internships free of charge.
Hundreds of engineering students from areas including fabrication and welding, manufacturing and mechanical, automotive and electrical and electronic engineering attended the event.
The learners gained a valuable opportunity to explore possible ‘next steps’ and were encouraged to consider their potential future career paths. It also gave them an awareness of available jobs in their particular sector.
Level 1 Automotive Engineering student Sonny Truman said: “It was a good event, I went in there with the intention of hopefully grabbing myself an apprenticeship.
“I’ve spoken to a couple of companies and they’ve given me some really useful information on how to get to a Level 2 apprenticeship.”
Managing Director of Lincoln Security Aiden Farrar said: “The main purpose of coming to an event like this is so that we can look at future recruitment of apprentices.
“With the nature of business that we’re in we feel it’s a dying trade so coming to an event like this means we can show prospective employees that this job opportunity and career path is still out there for people.”
